BARRY'S, THE HOME IMPROVERS

Barry's, The Home Improvers began as Mad Barry's over 30 years ago.They specialise in the design and supply of kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, wardrobes and in-home cabinetry storage solutions.

Barry's Director Elvio DiZane approached diggy in 2005 to construct the online portal for Barry's. diggy developed a site that gave Barry's customers access to a complete electronic version of their popular 'magalogue' as well as keeping them up-to-date with current promotions and specials.

MARTINIQUE ON MACROSSAN

Martinique is an attractive tropical resort based in one of Australia’s favourite tourist destinations, Port Douglas. The managers of Martinique understood that the highly competitive tourism industry demands a bold presence in both the online and offline worlds.

Martinique came to us with a problem; they weren't getting enough traffic to their web site. After and initial web site inspection from diggy it was evident that increasing traffic was easier said than done. The site content was not up to date and there were very few incoming links (other sites linking to Martinique).

Discredited SEO Techniques

It was also apparent that there were some previous outdated and discredited SEO attempts. Bad SEO practices can result in your site being penalised by search engines like Google. Unfortunately there are still some SEO companies around that still use “black hat” techniques which end up costing their clients in the long run. At diggy we only use legal and safe SEO techniques.

SEO Steps

• Key phrase strategy and feasibility assessment. We helped Matinique focus their SEO efforts towards the realistic target key phrase ' Port Douglas apartments', rather than 'Port Douglas accommodation' which is a lot more competitive.
• Remove anything that might be considered a bad or questionable SEO practice to recude search engine penalisation.
• Updated text content, on-site elements and improved linking structure.
• Provided relevant and high PageRank backlinks.

Results

Currently, when searching for “Port Douglas apartments”, MSN and NineMSN brings Martinique up as the top result, and Google brings Martinique up on the first page. Monthly visitor numbers have increased significantly to the site as a result.

Ongoing Efforts

diggy’s efforts are now focused on constant supervision and a steady climb in Martinique’s long-lost ranking in Google. We achieve this through regular maintenance, quality backlinks and keyword strategies.
